Plant a Tree

Plant a Tree

“A room without books is like a body without a soul.”
― Marcus Tullius Cicero

It is true that a book or a paper is worth its value. We use paper in different forms and at different times. From large books to single paper document papers are used everywhere. The modern society that we live in makes extensive use of paper for different purposes. In order to fulfil this never ending demand of paper a large scale of trees are cut down every day which is resulting in barren lands.

If you are wondering what this is about and why paper has to do anything with cutting down of trees, then to those who do not even know where paper comes from here is what we have to say.

Paper is made up of cellulose fibres extracted from woods, rags and grasses. To manufacture paper which we use it on a daily basis for various reasons a large amount of these resources have been destroyed. If 100 trees are cut down then only a few plants are being planted. Paper manufacturing industries are rising globally and acres of land are being dedicated for this. Even they plant number of saplings in place of those cut down trees it is not enough.

Trees are essential in maintaining the balance in nature. Trees cause rains to form and also to hold the ground water. It is not just the duty of a person who cuts the trees to plant another but also the duty of every human being in order to survive. It helps us to get rid of air pollution, protect wild life and create a better world for the future generation. If we ignore this it might pose a serious threat to the future generations and also destroy the earth.

So folks, let’s all plant at least a single sapling of plant and try to grow lots and lots of trees because “The care of the Earth is our most ancient and most worthy, and after all, our most pleasing responsibility. ”  ―   Wendell Berry.
